2017 was special for so many reasons. In 2017, I photographed a year of portraits documenting a baby girl’s first year. Newborn photos with a seven-day-old who was so little that he still had his umbilical cord attached. The sweetest first birthday parties. A proposal inside gated Gramercy Park on the most perfect spring day. A party in a private box at an Islanders hockey game. A yoga shoot in the snow. 2017 was also the first time I received an email about a shoot and immediately started sobbing with total happiness – when a close friend’s now-husband wrote me to say that he was planning to propose and wanted to coordinate having me there to capture the moment. (They are pictured in the gallery below with their adorable sheepadoodle pup perfectly posing alongside them.)
