Favorite Portraits of 2018

I’m not exaggerating when I say that I look forward to putting together this blog post all year long. It’s always so much fun to look back on a year’s worth of photos, and this year especially had so many wonderful moments. I photographed four generations from one family all together. I got teary-eyed behind the camera at the weddings of two of my friends from junior year abroad in Paris in college. I did a couple’s maternity photos in the same spot in Gramercy Park where I photographed their surprise proposal last year. I traveled to San Francisco to photograph the graduation ceremony at my alma mater, featuring an impressive group of graduates as well as keynote speaker Hillary Clinton. And all year long, I marveled at my unique view into the childhoods of so many awesome kids – from babies I’ve photographed so many times that they don’t experience “stranger danger” when I come over with my camera, to a ten-year-old who told me how excited she was to tell her friends (who I also photograph) that a bird pooped on me during her shoot, to a toddler who made a birthday video for me saying, unprompted, “I love my Ebbe so much.” From all of the familiar faces to all of the new ones, 2018 was one for the books. Thank you for coming along for the ride, and I hope you enjoy some of my favorite portraits!
