Shopbop’s annual spring sale starts this coming Monday 4/12 and runs through Friday 4/16. This sale is a great opportunity to find new pieces for spring and summer – and for spring and summer shoots! Personally, my best Shopbop sale purchases have been this two-piece dress (I got it in white a few years ago and still wear it frequently; I also wear the pieces separately), these absurdly overpriced shorts that actually are as great as all the influencers say they are, and these Stuart Weitzman sandals. This year, I have my eye on this top and this dress from the list below, and these sandals.

Here are my picks for pieces that will photograph beautifully. I am really into white pieces at the moment; they are so versatile and look good with so many different shoot backdrops (at the beach, at the park, at home). I think any of these tops would look good with jeans or with a high-waisted skirt.

Part 2: Instagram requests

If you watched my instagram stories on Sunday, you know that I put up a question box to get more of a sense of what you all are looking for. Here are my recommendations based on your requests.

Black tie wedding: My friend Melissa has this dress and it is stunning. I love this jumpsuit. I can also put together a whole post on this and pull from different sites; for example, this beautiful Reformation dress is not at Shopbop (but it is on sale too!) and I think it is perfect.

Engagement photos: Any of the white dresses above would be lovely. This dress would be perfect for beach photos. This dress is so fun for a more formal shoot. You could also wear jeans with this top or this gorgeous sweater. You also don’t have to wear white, and you could use this as an excuse to go all out get a fancy dress like this or even this.

What I am getting: I am ordering these sandals, this sweater for next year, these blue light glasses (random, I know), this top in white, and I may finally bite the bullet on this cashmere scarf/wrap that I’ve had my eye on for years.
