I’m so excited to share some of my favorite photos from Amy and Miles’s wedding in Sonoma last July. I have known Amy and her family since elementary school; Amy’s older sister, Ali, and I became lifelong friends all the way back in the first grade! Ali and I went to different high schools, but Amy went on to attend my high school – as did Miles! Amy and Miles met in high school and have been together ever since.

Over the years, I’ve helped quite a few of my girlfriends find their wedding photographers. I have found that the hardest part for each of them has been knowing where to start. I thought I’d compile my tried-and-true tips into a blog post. I hope you’ll find them helpful.

I am so excited to finally put together a blog post featuring one of my favorite weddings, ever: my dear friend Maddy’s! The entire wedding weekend was a total joy to photograph; their families and friends were so kind and wonderful, and it was so clear to me behind the camera just how loved and respected Maddy and Chris are by all.

I know that we could all use a little bit of light right now, and I thought that photos of this amazing rehearsal dinner dress might help brighten the day. This stunning dress is by Markarian – the same designer who made the bride’s wedding dress.

Last spring, I photographed this lovely surprise proposal for Paul and Karen who were in New York on vacation. (They live in Seattle, and Paul found me on instagram!) Paul was hoping to propose on Bow Bridge in Central Park, but a thunderstorm forced us to change our plans. I suggested proposing in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and I’m so glad Paul agreed; I think that this series of photos is so special, and so New York.

I am so excited to share the photos from Alexandra and Andrew’s gorgeous wedding this past May. Photographing two people who are so clearly in love is always a joy, but their wedding was extra special; their love and respect for each other were so clear, both in the way they looked at each other and in the vows they wrote and read to each other during the ceremony.

After Alexandra and Andrew’s ceremony and portraits, we joined their guests at their reception venue: the New York City classic French restaurant Le Bilboquet. Since all of the guests had arrived at Le Bilboquet while Alexandra and Andrew and I were shooting their portraits, we were met with such great energy as soon as we walked in.

Megan and Andrew’s proposal story is such a great one. They live in Washington, DC but love to come to New York for weekend trips together. Andrew decided to propose on one of those weekends, right on Gapstow Bridge in Central Park.

In December, I photographed Cristen and Russell’s gorgeous black tie wedding at Guastavino’s in New York City. The entire day was so fun and so full of love that I went home that night in the absolute best mood. They really went above and beyond in showing their guests how much they valued having them attend their wedding.

This August, I photographed a beautiful wedding featuring a couple whose how-we-met story is one of the best I’ve heard. Ellie and Sam grew up together in upstate New York and even had a sixth-grade romance before going their separate ways and reuniting as adults. Their families are longtime friends, and because of that bond their wedding featured so many sweet family moments.
