Hello and happy first weekend of fall! Lately I have been thinking about how I can help answer my most frequently asked photography question: “What should I wear to my shoot?”. I thought I would start a series sharing pieces that I know will photograph well. I hope these beautiful sweaters spark ideas – either for treating yourself to something new, or shopping your own closet.

All of these sweaters would look great with jeans. My personal favorite jeans are the Madewell 9″ skinny jeans; I have them in white, blue, and black. I also swear by the J.Crew pixie pants; if you’ve seen me photographing a fall or winter event or wedding, you’ve seen me wear these pants. They are super flattering and you can move easily in them. This season, I have seen a lot of slip skirts, and I love the way they photograph. Vince has a beautiful one, as does Jenni Kayne.

As for shoes, I live in these flats in the fall with jeans and a sweater. I also love these booties and these booties. I always go with black.
